Friends, cracking the CTET requires smart work, not just hard work. Here is my proven strategy to help you score 100+ easily:

  1. Master the NCERT Books: The CBSE clearly states that test items will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus. For Paper I, read NCERT EVS and Math books from Class 1 to 5. For Paper II, thoroughly read your specific subject (Math/Science or Social Science) NCERTs from Class 6 to 8. Do not skip this.
  2. Focus Heavily on Pedagogy: Out of 150 marks, nearly 90 marks are purely based on Pedagogy (30 from CDP, and 15 marks of pedagogy in each of the other four subjects). Understand the concepts of inclusive education, child-centered education, and think like a progressive, empathetic teacher when selecting options.
  3. Language Selection is Crucial: Choose Language I as the language you are most comfortable reading and comprehending (it includes prose and poetry). Choose Language II as your second strongest language (it generally has two prose passages and is slightly easier in terms of grammar).
  4. No Negative Marking – Attempt Everything: Since there is no penalty for wrong answers, ensure you completely darken the OMR circle for all 150 questions. Never leave a bubble blank!
  5. OMR Practice: The test is offline. Bring your own good-quality Black or Blue Ball Point Pen, as the board will not supply pens this time. Practice filling OMR sheets at home so you don’t make shading errors under pressure.
