Understanding past cut-offs is crucial for your strategy. While cut-offs vary based on the zone, difficulty level, and normalisation, let’s look at the CBT-1 Cut-off trends for the Open/General category across major zones (including Bengaluru) based on historical data:
- RRB Bengaluru: General/UR usually hovers around 45-58 marks, OBC around 38-47 marks, SC around 30-42 marks, and ST around 25-32 marks.
- High Competition Zones (e.g., Muzaffarpur, Patna, Kolkata): UR Cut-offs can easily push between 61 to 72 marks.
- Moderate Zones: UR generally ranges between 48 to 55 marks.
Sathya’s Suggestion: To be absolutely safe and guarantee your spot in CBT-2, target a minimum safe score of 65+ marks in CBT-1 regardless of your category!
