Eligibility Criteria & Academic Requirements
To apply and successfully receive the prize money, candidates must strictly meet the following criteria:
Basic Eligibility:
- Category: Must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- Domicile: Must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- Institution: The course must have been completed in a recognized Government or Private institution located within Karnataka.
Academic Requirements:
- First Attempt Rule: The student must have passed all subjects in their examination in their very first attempt.
- Students who failed a subject and passed in supplementary exams are not eligible.
- Minimum Marks (First Class): The student must have achieved a minimum of 60% or above (First Class division).
- For students whose results are in CGPA, the equivalent percentage must be 60% or higher.
- Course Eligibility: Students who have completed SSLC (10th), 2nd PUC, 3-Year Polytechnic Diploma, Undergraduate Degrees (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, etc.), Postgraduate Degrees (M.A., M.Sc., etc.), and Professional Courses (B.E., MBBS, Agriculture, etc.) are eligible.

(Note on Prize Amounts: Amounts range from ₹7,000 to ₹15,000 for SSLC, ₹20,000 for PUC/Diploma, ₹25,000 for Degree, ₹30,000 for PG, and ₹35,000 for Professional courses).
Aadhaar Mapping & Bank Linkage (Crucial Step)
The prize money is disbursed entirely through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Because of this, Aadhaar mapping is the most critical part of your application.
- NPCI Mapping Status: Your Bank Account must be linked to your Aadhaar card, and the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) mapping must be ACTIVE.
- What if it is not linked? If your Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account for DBT, you will receive an “Aadhaar Seeding Problem” or “NPCI Inactive” error while applying, and the money will not be credited.
- How to Fix: You must physically visit your bank branch, submit an “Aadhaar Seeding Form for DBT,” and explicitly ask the bank manager to map your account to the NPCI server.
- Name Match: The name on your Aadhaar card must exactly match your SSLC marks card and bank account for smooth verification.
Required Documents for Prize Money Application
You must scan and keep the following documents ready before starting the online application:
- Aadhaar Card (Linked with a mobile number for OTP verification).
- Caste and Income Certificate (You will need the 15-digit RD Number starting with RD…).
- Educational Marks Cards:
- For SSLC / PUC: Final Marks Card.
- For Diploma, Degree, or PG: You must have the marks cards for every semester.
- Bank Passbook (Front page showing Account Number, IFSC, and Name).
- Passport-Size Photograph (JPEG format).
- Mobile Number (Must be active to receive Aadhaar authentication OTP).
(Note on file sizes: PDF format is generally required for uploading marks cards, and files must be under 500 KB).
