Educational Qualifications & Age Restrictions

Educational Qualification (As of Application Date)

  • Agricultural Marketing Dept (AE Civil): Must possess a Bachelor degree of Engineering in Civil from a recognized University in India or an equivalent qualification.
  • BWSSB (AE Civil / Mech / CS): Should possess a Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Computer Science Engineering/Technology (respectively) or equivalent. Crucial Rule: You must be Computer literate through passing a minimum six months duration course in Computer basics.
  • KSSIDC (AEE Civil): Must possess a Bachelor Engineering Degree in Civil with three years of experience in the relevant field.
  • KSSIDC (AE Civil): Must possess a Bachelor degree of Engineering in Civil or equivalent.

Age Rules & Restrictions

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: The government has provided a one-time upper age limit relaxation of 5 years. The revised maximum age limits are:
    • General Merit (GM): 40 Years
    • Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: 43 Years
    • SC, ST, Category-1: 45 Years
  • Extra Age Relaxations: Additional relaxations apply for Ex-Servicemen, PwD (10 years), Widows, and former state/local body employees as per rules.

The Selection Process Of KEA Assistant Engineer

Selection is purely based on a Competitive Examination conducted offline via OMR sheets.

  • Compulsory Kannada Language Exam: A 150-mark paper. You must score a minimum of 50 marks to qualify. (Note: Candidates who studied Kannada as 1st/2nd language in SSLC or passed the KPSC/KEA Kannada test are exempt ).
  • Paper-1 (General Knowledge): 300 Marks, 2 Hours duration. Covers Current Affairs, Indian/Karnataka History & Geography, Constitution, General Science, etc.
  • Paper-2 (Specific Subject): 300 Marks, 2 Hours duration. Based on your specific engineering branch syllabus.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called to verify their original certificates, identity proofs, and medical fitness.

  2. Step 2: Click on the specific link provided for this recruitment and read all instructions carefully before starting.
  3. Step 3: Fill in your details. If you wish to apply for more than one post, you must select all desired posts within a single application form.
  4. Step 4: Upload your documents. You must upload a recently scanned passport-size photograph and your signature (in black ink). Applications missing these will be instantly rejected.
  5. Step 5: Pay the required fee online and download a printed copy of your application and fee challan for future reference.
       

Important Notes to Know

To prevent your application from being instantly rejected, memorize these absolute official rules:

  1. The Strict Negative Marking & 5th Option Rule There is a penalty for wrong answers. For every incorrect response, 0.25 (one-fourth) marks will be deducted. Furthermore, the OMR sheet has a 5th option/circle. If you do not know an answer, you MUST shade the 5th circle. If you leave a question completely unshaded, 0.25 marks will still be deducted. You must also score a minimum of 35% overall to qualify.
  2. Valid Identity Proofs On exam day, you must bring your downloaded admission ticket alongside a valid original government ID. Accepted proofs include PAN Card, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or a Govt Employee ID. Without this, you will not be permitted inside the center.
  3. Old Applicants Fee Exemption If you already applied and successfully paid the fee during the earlier cancelled notifications (dated 08.10.2025, 31.10.2025, and 15.11.2025) for the exact same posts, you do not need to pay the application fee again.
  4. No Edits Allowed Once submitted, KEA will not allow any changes or corrections to the application form under any circumstances. Ensure absolute accuracy before clicking submit.

1. Is there negative marking in the KEA AE examination?

Ans: Yes. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Also, if you do not attempt a question and fail to shade the 5th OMR option, 0.25 marks will be penalized.

2. I applied for these posts in October/November 2025. Do I need to pay the fee again?

Ans: No. Candidates who already applied and paid the required fees during the 2025 notifications for the same posts are exempt from paying the fee again.

3. What is the minimum qualifying score for the competitive exam?
